“Traditional compression load cells simply weren’t cutting it for our mobile mixing solutions,” says Dennis Hodgson, Director of Biotech Product Development at Tezalon Biotech. “The need for constant recalibration every time we moved the mixers prevented us from achieving true mobility. That need ultimately drove us to explore Eilersen’s solution.”
Eilersen’s capacitive load cells provided a seamless solution to these challenges. When Tezalon Biotech decided to test the Eilersen load cells on their largest vessel yet, it was a “blue sky moment,” as Dennis recalls.
The vessel was transported across California, enduring positive to negative tension shifts without compromising load cell performance. Once lifted off the truck, the load cells retained their factory calibration.
“We transported our biggest vessel, lifted it off the truck, and the load cells maintained their accuracy without recalibration,” Dennis notes. “We didn’t have to do anything—it’s such a robust solution. It’s plug-and-play. We didn’t even have to configure anything.”
With Eilersen’s digital capacitive technology, setup became as simple as attaching two screws per load cell. Four load cells were installed—one in each corner—saving hours of labor and eliminating any alignment issues. “It was a fantastic experience,” says Dennis Hodgson.
